I’ve been tutoring A-Level Biology for six years, mostly with students who understand the content but struggle to turn that knowledge into marks. I spend quite a lot of time on data questions, practical skills and getting longer answers into the right level of detail. Genetics is probably my favourite topic to teach. Near exam season, lessons usually become very question-heavy, with plenty of work on mark schemes and common mistakes.

Hi! I’m a Biology tutor with a background in biomedical science and four years of experience teaching A-Level students online. I’m especially keen on cell biology and human physiology, and I’m quite visual in the way I explain things, so diagrams tend to appear a lot in my lessons. I also like going through past-paper questions together because they quickly show where a student is losing marks or misunderstanding the wording.

I have taught A-Level Biology for more than ten years, including several years as a classroom science teacher. My lessons are structured around the specification, but I avoid simply working through it point by point. Instead, I use exam questions to identify gaps and revisit the underlying biology where necessary. I particularly enjoy teaching respiration, photosynthesis and molecular genetics, where careful explanations make a significant difference.
