I’ve been teaching A-Level Biology for nine years, both in sixth-form classrooms and through private tuition. I particularly enjoy genetics and cell biology, although a lot of my tutoring involves helping students turn good subject knowledge into stronger exam answers. We work through past papers regularly, looking closely at command words, data questions and where marks are actually being lost.

Hi, I’m an A-Level Biology tutor with a background in biomedical science. I started tutoring while at university and have now worked with students for over six years. Biology can get very content-heavy, so I like using diagrams and quick questions to make sure things actually stick. My favourite areas to teach are immunity and physiology, and nearer exams I spend plenty of time on unfamiliar-data questions.

Before becoming a full-time tutor, I worked in a molecular biology laboratory and later moved into education. I now specialise solely in A-Level Biology, with eight years of tutoring experience. Students often come to me for help with genetics, gene expression and practical-based questions. Lessons are quite structured: we identify gaps first, revisit the science where needed, then practise applying it under exam conditions.

I teach A-Level Biology and have spent more than a decade working with sixth-form students. One thing I notice quite often is that students know far more Biology than their exam marks suggest. I therefore spend a lot of lesson time on application questions and precise biological wording. Ecology and evolution are probably my favourite topics, but I’m equally happy untangling respiration or photosynthesis when they become confusing.

My background is in human biology, and I’ve been tutoring A-Level Biology online for the past five years. I’m fairly relaxed in lessons and encourage students to stop me whenever something doesn’t make sense. We might sketch out the nephron, talk through an experiment or spend a whole session dissecting a difficult paper. I especially enjoy teaching homeostasis and physiology because there are so many useful links between topics.
